Indicadores del cambio y variabilidad climática en función de la temperatura en la Zona Metropolitana de Pachuca, Hidalgo, México

El análisis de los índices de cambio y variabilidad climática es esencial para conocer y evaluar el impacto regional y local de fenómenos meteorológicos extremos que afectan el ámbito social, económico y ambiental de una población a través del tiempo. En este trabajo se analizan las tendencias de cambio climático entre 1981-2020 en la Zona Metropolitana de Pachuca, a través de indicadores de temperatura mínima y máxima promedio anual (TNa y TXa), temperaturas mínimas y máximas promedio del mes más frio y cálido (TNm y TXm), temperaturas mínimas y máximas extremas (TNx y TXx), así como el porcentaje de noches y días muy cálidos (TN90p y TX90p), obtenidos de datos de estaciones meteorológicas. Los resultados apuntan a tendencias de calentamiento a largo plazo en todos los indicadores y heterogeneidad espacial, con mayores temperaturas en las zonas urbanas de Pachuca y Mineral de la Reforma en comparación con las rurales. También se observa que cada década posterior a 1981-1990 fue más cálida que la anterior, con los cambios más drásticos entre 2011 y 2020 donde los días y noches muy cálidas pudieron aumentar más del 30 % con respecto al periodo base (1981-2010), en concordancia con tendencias regionales y globales de calentamiento. Los hallazgos de esta investigación enfatizan la importancia de caracterizar el cambio en los indicadores climáticos a nivel local-regional y considerarlos en los mecanismos de gestión del cambio ambiental.
